Student Magazine Mock-Up

This is the mock-up for my student magazine:

As you can see, it is very different compared to my final product. I decided to change the idea of a school in the background as I thought that this was far too conventional of a student magazine. I did however keep the title and the ruler at the top as I thought that this made the magazine look unique and original. Juxtaposed to this, the composition is very similar to the final product as it works very well and shows everything that is pictured in the shot. I think that a close-up wouldn't be suitable as only a few items in the mise-en-scene would be shown, and a long shot would show too much and may make the subject of the magazine look as if they are stadning far away. This mock-up also includes some of the conventions of a student magazine cover: Masthead, barcode, issue number, main image, colour and an original logo/emblem.
