ICP Media research

During the course of creating my magazine and putting my ideas into action, I have researched into the company IPC Media - The UK's leading consumer magazine publisher. It is Important that I understand what this company does as this will be a great help for my magazine as I can follow some of the guidelines which they use."IPC Media produces over 60 iconic media brands, with print alone reaching almost two thirds of UK women and 42% of UK men – almost 26 million UK adults". This is why IPC Media would most likely publish my magazine as they have such a wide range of publishing contracts. Additionally, they would be able to print the pages in "diverse print" which would mean that my magazine would be very high quality and it would look professional. Here as some examples of men's magazines that they print: Country Life, Horse and Hound, Rugby World, Decanter, Nuts, Mousebreaker and NME. At the same time they also publish women's magazines. These include: Look, Now, Chat, Women, What's on TV, TVTimes and TV and Satellite Week. IPC Media has 5 different divisions within its makeup. These are: Advertising, Connect, Inspire, Market force and Southbank. All of these work together in order to form a conglomerate and form what is known as IPC Media. As a total, IPC Media prints for just over 60 iconic brands which is a lot considering there are only a cluster of magazine brands which are known all over the world. After finding out that they publish magazines for NME, I have realised that IPC Media would be the right type of company to publish my magazine as they would clearly understand what my aims are and they could relate to my ideas as they would have had similar magazine types to my own.
